Fortunately, about half the cameras that suffer this failure can easily be fixed by one of the following methods. the lens wont budge and i dont have a budget to fix this PROBLEM. Couldnt' get the lens to retract all the way and kept getting lens error and retry power on messages. Some error messages may just show a number (e18 error).
How feasible is it to reconnect the ribbon cable connectors on it? The lens mechanism retraction is very fragile. I know the costs are rediculous, but how much. The problem is common for most cameras with telescopic lens barrel.
