I had a similar situation on a Canon Ixus many years back. internet repair would likely have cost more than the camera and the non-refundable shipping and handling charges from kodak were half the price! I will not blame you!! If you've been able to rule out some easily solvable issues, it's a good idea to touch base with the manufacturer. We tried them all and ended up taking a few screws out and then oiling around the lens with sewing machine or hair clipper oil.
