This can absolve you of the need to purchase a replacement digital camera if you already have a phone cam. Sorry to say that only about half of the lens errors can be corrected by these methods. the springs on this model are different than what I saw on the article about the A1000. Nothing. It's now firmly in place and the camera works again perfectly. Am sure that this is what caused it to loosen from the caulk.

They fixed it or replaced it for free every time. It saved me a lot of money.... While I was travelling in the Middle East, the lens of my Canon PowerShot S100 got stuck and I received the message: "Lens Error, Will shut down automatically, Restart camera". I tried all the steps.
Finally I started fooling around with buttons b/c like all electronics sometimes using combinations of buttons help clear the issue. Couldnt' get the lens to retract all the way and kept getting lens error and retry power on messages. I did hear a click, but it still didn't work. Recommend closely looking at the lens barrel when it's extended.
